The Union Of Europe
February 2013 Channelling
David Cameron says that if he is re-elected in 2015 he will re-negotiate terms for Britain’s membership of the European Union. Then, on that basis, two years later, offer an IN/OUT referendum. His Deputy Nick Clegg says this is just ‘tying us up in knots’ for the next five years. Some members of the EU say ‘if that’s how you feel just go’; others say ‘we need you’.

“The most important thing to remember about Europe is the Holocaust. The Holocaust represented the playing out of the darkest pits of humanity and was the time in European history when it was agreed ‘enough is enough’.
When an individual attacks someone else: verbally, emotionally or even physically, they are fighting their own unconscious Shadow. It is the same with countries. It is fear that begins and ends wars: fear of the darker side of the collective nature. In that fear, a country goes to war.
By integrating the shadow – as psychology persuades us to do as individuals – a country can bring out the very best of itself; the pure, spiritual, purposeful side, and discover the meaning of its soul nature.
Ultimately, by understanding its past, present and future, the true soul of a country can be revealed, and then, as in the current case of European union, an over-lighting form appears for the good: the Soul of Europe.
European Union is vital. Europe holds a particular energy that will be required in the wake of this current, extraordinary balancing of power we are witnessing today. Indeed, monetary union, too, is vital. It is the ‘tying up’ energy of money – in the way the American states are tied up through money – that creates union most effectively. Monetary union holds countries together like the web of a spider, and ultimately it is money that will hold Britain into EU.
Each country in Europe has a contribution to make; each country is individual and significant and adds to the mix. And this union that is Europe, held by the web of money, ‘draws up’, like the spider itself, and creates the over-lighting Soul of Europe.
In its essence the Soul of Europe is very fine and peaceful. It is aware of its position in the world and what it has to do. Where before it fought wars it now leads from the front – through mercy not justice.
Britain itself has a particular role to play: at its best it has the potential for leadership in a leadership environment. Beyond its shadow quality of dominance, Britain can offer an intrinsic understanding of the world, an awareness of ‘fair play’. It can be level headed and sensible, able to say the right thing, and get the balance right.
Germany brings order, and at its best encourages common sense solidarity between peoples, as opposed to its negative propensity for the psychic herding of those who are different, ‘not uniform’.
France can offer an intrinsic awareness of beauty – provided it is tempered by an awareness of loving-kindness. Beauty on its own can be an emotionless, unfeeling quality.
When the Spanish are proud in a positive way – as opposed to self-regarding – Europe can be creative and proud, neither over-blowing nor undermining its achievements.
The Greeks offer fine minds for mathematical fine-tuning – when they are not lazy.
And now the Slavic peoples of Eastern Europe are finding themselves, in a new way. The nature of the Slav has been to be easily led, but now they have the potential to lead Europe into a new state of Grace; to bring a practical creativity and a grounded spirituality to the Union.
The Soul of Europe is the distillation of the best of each country when it has finished playing out the negative shadow of self-interest. In ever-greater union there is the opportunity for each member country to operate beyond its baser instincts, and to offer the highest level of leadership, to lead by example, and to offer hope in an uncertain world.
Britain would do well to continue playing its part in this unfolding Europe. And one day – unlikely as it seems right now – might even want to join the monetary union!”
