Annie’s Notebook 4

WAKING UP TO OURSELVES

A regular review: for those who feel there’s something more.

This month’s topic

WHAT DID HAPPEN IN 2012?

Following on from January’s Monthly Channelling and loosely based on a workshop given in London on 12 January 2013.

What hinders us most is fear.

Guidelines

“We suggest that this is the moment in which our basic fears are ready to be let go, in order for the world of timeless efficiency to enter the world of space-time inefficiency.

Efficiency is when we can open up the portals to ‘all that is, and get to the point. Get to what’s real in our lives and the world around us.

The space-time continuum is highly inefficient because it means that we continually live within the framework of collective history; family history; our own history – seeing shadows of the past in everything we do. We cannot act ‘normally’ or even know what is normal, because the fear engendered by all manner of past shadows hinders our movement through life.

Think what it would be like to locate our basic fear; the fear that is holding us down to the inefficiency of ‘unclear’ living; the fear that is operating us through life, preventing us from leading our own lives, freely choosing and moving?

In fact, 2012 was ruled by fear: a crescendo of conjoined fear overshadowing the environment, making everyone afraid – not only for themselves, but of and for the people around them.

2012 was a year of basic instincts, basic fears lurching us forward day by day by day.

“I’m not good enough”. “ I’m afraid to let go in case I fall into a hole in front of me”.  “I keep thinking of the ending, so I’m afraid to begin things”. “Fear of family history keeps overwhelming me”. “I’m afraid I can’t keep my central core of confidence intact”.

Allow yourself the privilege of becoming whole. Let the fears subside now. See yourself in a room full of flowers. What does that feel like, to know that these flowers are not afraid? They bloom in full measure, expressing who they are, without any fear at all that they might not bloom. They just bloom.

As you look at these flowers in all their glory, begin to feel yourself filling up, filling all the parts of your body that suddenly seem empty. Check your feet. Make sure they are full – of you. Check the rest of your body; find the empty places and fill yourself out. It may be an empty hand; or shoulders that are ‘cold’ and need filling up; perhaps your solar plexus, or your heart.

Flesh yourself out and begin to feel how different that is – to be full of yourself as the flowers are. Realise, that even if in your life you have acted ‘full of yourself’, it hasn’t felt real. This fullness, this ‘blossoming’ is different. It is real. It is the experience of you without fear: because fear creeps into all the places that are not full of you. Feel yourself in full bloom, like those flowers. Live in your whole body. Don’t leave space for the doubts to creep in.

The time has come to remember ourselves as beings of light, to find the deepest, meaningful place inside ourselves and ‘feed the world’.

Guidelines

We are happy to announce that the portals between heaven and earth are open! This means the earth can be enlightened. The way to recognise this is to feel yourselves happier than you have done for ages. Even if you think ‘that’s the last thing I am, happy’ stay with us.  The time has come to realise that you are at home on the planet, and that the planet supports you from a very distant place. That ‘your star’ is now able to come to you on earth, and show you how safe and warm and comforted you can feel on this planet at this time, in this era of unfolding evolution.

How do I know that? How can I possibly feel safe and happy on this planet, when all I hear and see is death and destruction all around me?

Simple.  Return to the feeling you had when your basic fear was gone. Feel yourself fully inside your whole body and feel the calm restored in your being. Recognise that you are fully present in the here and now, fully who you are and want to be.

Now, in this state of grounded presence, become aware of the star above you: the star in heaven that calls your name.  Allow the star to enter your being while you are solid, present and safe on earth.  Feel the difference. Feel how happy that makes you feel. Feel the sense of the star that knows your name, and feel how much you feel at home. The star of who you are is within you, fully and completely here on earth. How comforting is that.

Allow yourself to expand within your being; allow yourself the privilege of knowing yourself to be that star, at home in that star, the star of who you are.

Sit happily in who you are, and realise yourself. Self-realisation is the ultimate wish of every human being on earth. Self-realisation that you and I and everyone, as a self- realised being, is a star, on earth.

This is timelessness. It is the difference between life on earth, and life on heaven and earth. This is the promise: at the end of time you are at home in your star, and as a star you radiate. You radiate who you are, in the best possible sense of who you are. And in this way you feed the world.”

What triggered the bigger picture for you and set you on your spiritual journey?

At the beginning of my own spiritual journey, the late Ian Gordon-Brown, co-founder of The Centre for Transpersonal Psychology, told me that waking up to the bigger picture often demanded we ‘break down to break through’. It is a common experience on a path that is often lonely.

Gill’s story: “For me it has been a very slow journey. The first thing was during my English A Level, when I was introduced to the metaphysical poets. John Donne and R.S. Thomas, particularly, really blew me away; they got into a different place inside me. There followed a long period of time, into my 30s, of establishing a career and participating in a variety of practical interests, but punctuated with extended periods of severe depression.

After I met my husband things were triggered again. He introduced me to the Alexander Technique and alongside the training I explored all sorts of alternative healing, and consciousness. But when the marriage eventually failed I broke down – physically, and on all levels.

A friend had sent me a brochure about a healing centre in Scotland and I went for a week; at the end of which I was told I could return whenever I wanted, and didn’t have to pay. Soon after I then went back for another month and at the end of that time I knew I couldn’t go home. I stayed in Scotland for another nine months, first at the centre and then gradually moving to more challenging environments and situations, but always feeling guided and supported on many levels.
When I review my life I feel there have been hands holding me and guiding me, as if I have been carried from hand to hand in order to take me into experiences and growth I wouldn’t have imagined for myself. I have come to accept, with humility, that I have been guided in bite-size pieces, in a way that I could accept and integrate. Now, in my role as teacher with individuals and groups, and as I continue my own journey, I feel I am an instrument, to open eyes and hearts to a bigger sense of being, to help people explore, and begin to realise all they are capable of. I feel it in an acceptance of who I am.”
