Peace
NOVEMBER 2017
“Remember remember the 5th of November; gunpowder, treason and plot.
What we would take for granted at this time is that there are renegades amongst us: renegades who have a very different view of the world than the one prevailing right now.
Renegades want change. Renegades want fairness. Renegades want what everyone thinks they want, and yet what very few, deep down, actually do want. And that is Peace.
In fact, if they only knew it, many many people do not want peace. And the reason they don’t want peace is that an un-peaceful character feels they are part of the drama of their own lives. The drama that keeps them feeling wanted, alive; part of the action, part of the main crowd – because drama is the stuff of human understanding, until now.
The drama of life keeps people wanting, moving, becoming, and however hard it seems in life to keep the drama going, this is exactly how most of humanity feels they are alive.
And yet it is absolutely significant that there are now those who actually don’t want to live the drama; to constantly feel that the drama is moving them, rather than they have control of the drama of their own lives.
The problem with having control over your own life, however, is that it can only come when there is peace within who and what you are.
That is why we are still so concerned, for example, with the Brexit drama. The idea of Europe was Peace, and yet the drama of the Brexit relationship is more drama, not less; more drama and not peace. And of course the Jihadis, or anyone wanting war rather than peace cannot understand that while they war they do not have control over their own fate.
So what does it do to make peace with yourself and have control over your own lives? It means having the will, the wish, the understanding, and the recognition that who you are is enough. We say it so often. We remind people all the time that who they are is enough.
The way to recognise yourself as being enough is to allow yourself the privilege of feeling very calm right now… so calm… in a state where nothing is ruffling your feathers at all.
When you can just touch that measure of calm, you will know that you are held safely, profoundly and deeply in the arms of humanity at its very, very best. At Peace.
The thing about peace is not that it is too boring, but that it is here that you begin to feel you control your own life, to know that you are not out of control; you are not an imposter; you are not all the terrible things you remind yourself daily that you feel you are.
In that one moment of calm, feel yourself truly at peace with yourself.
Sit quietly now and listen to the audio meditation. This allows you to feel that moment of calm and what happens when you reach it. Live at peace, in control of your own life now.”
