When life gets too difficult it’s easy to think we just want to opt out and find some compelling way to escape reality. But however powerful the imagination to take our mind off things, the fact is the world looks in a pretty bad way and many people are suffering more than they can cope with. There must be something we can do. We can’t be that helpless.

“The time has come to see the world in a different light. Light has the most extraordinary effect on human beings from cradle to the grave. Light needs to be understood in a new way now.

Because there is so much darkness in the world right now, the light of the universe has been kept at bay, kept out of the human framework like a ring-pass-not. It is as though the dark has been so strong it has been pushing against the light that is trying to come in, and as a result it is sitting like a pall over the whole of humanity.

That is why it is so important to think about light now, to really move the goalposts between light and dark, consciously.

We can affect the light. We really can. It is clear that the powerful in society are losing their power and the least powerful do now have the opportunity to take power in their own hands.

And yet it is not taking power in the old manipulative, dominating sense of power; it is a new relationship to power; a ‘communication’ with the new light emanating from universal loving-kindness.  It is the ability to allow the true essence of light – which is the true power – to emerge in its most negative form. By negative we mean the type of light that is ‘negative’ in the electrical sense, as opposed to ‘positive’.

It is light that in and of itself is a benign power, entering earth’s domain from a wise and well-intentioned universe.  But in this sense it is only available to those who have love in their hearts. It will be in the hands of those who understand the nature of integrity, not those who lust for power.

The old power – harnessed by those who wished to manipulate others – was earthly power. But as we will now see for ourselves, the ‘axis has indeed shifted’; the earth is turned on its head, and that darker earthly power will no longer be available.

Instead the time favours those who wish to see a better world. It is now that the new universal light can be brought into consciousness, tempered through those with loving- kindness in their hearts.

The whole world is aware that it is in a mess. There are those of all faiths whose imagination takes them into an earthly paradise in heaven and do unspeakable things in the name of their God who promises them salvation elsewhere. But underneath this radicalisation of God, is a true light, available to all those who open themselves up and indeed there is a pot of gold to be found at the end of the rainbow of light that each individual in their own way can experience.

In your mind’s eye take a small dog into your arms and feel the love of two friends for each other. Feel the relaxed nature of loving kindness, one to the other, and allow that calm to bring you right down into your body.

And now feel yourself fully embodied as the pot of gold at the end of the rainbow, and feel yourself receiving all the beautiful, gentle colours of that rainbow right inside you. Feel the growing sense of wellbeing as you fill up more and more with these colours of light.  Feel these colours bring you a growing sense of self-confidence, the self- realisation that you are a meaningful presence here on earth. Feel colourful in your own world.

Get to know yourself as a person of significance in a colourful world – you are the one who most needs convincing.  Feeling full of colour, see how you can take yourself confidently into your environment and light up someone else’s world .

The more you light up the world, the more the world will lighten up.
